Meet Chaplain
Alison Mckinney
Alison McKinney joined Emergency Chaplains in June 2025 as our new Staff Chaplain, bringing nearly thirty years of leadership in administration, ministry support, and frontline service. She spent the bulk of her career at the Biblical Recorder, where she oversaw finances, human resources, board operations, and communications—always marked by integrity, a servant’s heart, and a keen eye for organizational excellence.

After retiring from full-time work, Alison immediately stepped into volunteer ministry with Emergency Chaplains. Today, she ministers alongside first responders and those affected by traumatic events, offering compassion, presence, and the hope of Christ in some of life’s most challenging moments.

An active member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Durham, Alison co-teaches a women’s Sunday School class and serves in missions and outreach. Her decades of personal ministry include disaster relief efforts and care for people experiencing homelessness.

In her dual role as Staff Chaplain, Alison balances frontline crisis response with behind-the-scenes administrative support—strengthening our relationships with churches and agencies across North Carolina. We’re grateful for the wisdom, professionalism, and spiritual depth she brings to our team.
