The Emergency Chaplains Patch

Our patch is dominated by the cross which commands our focus upon our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We serve all First Responders and the public to His glory.

The cross divides the patch into four fields.  These four fields have the symbols of the agencies that we serve.

In the upper left is the Maltese Cross, used as a universal symbol of Fire Departments.

In the upper right is the symbolic star of law enforcement coupled with a wreath of peace.  This is a widely recognized symbol used for peace officers and is used by the Fraternal Order of Police and other groups as part of their logo.

In the lower left you will find the Star of Life.  This symbol is incorporated in EMS badges and logos and is also used by hospitals and doctors.

In the lower right corner are the simple numbers 9-1-1.  911 is the universal telephone number to reach emergency services in the United States.

The patch is set on a black background as a reminder that the four agencies serve in a world that is darkened by the sinfulness of mankind.  The cross overshadows the darkness and points to the only way that we can overcome sin and the darkness of this world and experience true peace.

The design of the cross against the darkness reminds those who serve in the arena of Public Safety that Jesus Christ is the true source of strength that can see them through their darkest hour.

The gold trim on the patch serves as a reminder of the promise of heaven for all who trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
